We’re making changes so that bigger connections to nature will happen here.
Dear Friends,
We’re announcing updates to Succop Nature Park and Buffalo Creek Nature Park that allow us to focus our resources on education programs and conservation initiatives that will continue to connect people to birds and nature for years to come.
This process includes the difficult decision to close the nature stores at Succop Nature Park and Buffalo Creek Nature Park, effective today. We understand our position as a community resource for bird feeding and we remain ready to support our friends that feed the birds! Need bird seed? The Nature Store at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve remains open for business with plans to add new merchandise in 2026. We’re also planning remote bird seed sales so that you may order seed for pick-up at either Succop Nature Park or Buffalo Creek Nature Park. And, we have plans to open an online store in 2026 to better support our customers and mission.
While the nature stores at these locations have closed, both Succop Nature Park and Buffalo Creek Nature Park remain open to provide you with:
- Outdoor recreation 365 days a year, free of charge
- Fun, hands-on environmental education programming for all ages, including summer camps
- Community events
- Facility rentals including weddings at Succop Nature Park and parties/celebrations at both locations
- Volunteer opportunities
An additional note: At Buffalo Creek Nature Park, we’ve begun the work to transition the interior into an updated space. These upgrades support new education programming and larger rental opportunities for the community. During this transition, the building at Buffalo Creek Nature Park, including restrooms, will be closed to the public through February 28, 2026. All rentals and previously scheduled programs will continue at Buffalo Creek Nature Park during this time!
Please visit our online calendar at aswp.org for a listing of available programs at all of our locations through June. We’ll also have current information posted about public restroom availability at Succop Nature Park and Buffalo Creek Nature Park.
Thank you for your continued support of Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania. We look forward to seeing you for an upcoming program, nature hike, or special event.
